Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one bilingual pre-screenings to determine public benefits eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, WIC, and CAPS. Provide client orientation, complete intake forms, and assist with application renewals via the Gateway portal. Conduct follow-ups at 60 days to confirm benefit receipt and coordinate referrals to health, legal, and community resources. Support food pantry activities and lead outreach events for the Family Well-Being Department. Maintain organized client verification records and assist with data entry and case management logs.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in both English and Spanish - REQUIRED
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent computer skills and office administration skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Develop a working knowledge of federal aid programs, such as SNAP, TANF, CHIP and WIC, and how these programs apply to the Latino demographic
- Gain skills related to the Spanish language and exposure to a bicultural/bilingual learning experience in the field of social and community services
- Develop a positive attitude, cultural diversity skills, social intervention skills, and a strong desire to help the community
- Learn how to relate effectively with people of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
