Job Summary
Conduct SNAP, Medicaid, and WIC enrollment by assisting neighbors and partners with applications, providing eligibility education, and managing case files. Deliver training and technical assistance to partner agencies on program policies and procedures while developing presentation materials. Collaborate with the Manager of Public Benefits and IDHS offices to implement strategies that increase safety benefit enrollment and track application trends for advocacy. Maintain accurate client records, ensure confidentiality, and refer individuals to emergency financial assistance and employment services. Work hybrid with occasional weekend or evening events, traveling throughout Cook County with a personal vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience providing direct service to individuals and families
- Must have a car, driver's license and valid insurance
- Hybrid work environment – minimum 3 days in office
- Occasional weekend or evenings required based on community events scheduled
- Travel within the city of Chicago and Cook County suburbs required
- Personal vehicle is required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with public benefit programs and their respective application processes is preferred
- Familiarity with Chicago North/Northwest or South/Southwest
- History of living or working in these neighborhoods
- Competitive candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, excellent project management, and good organizational abilities
- Proficient in MS Office applications
