Benefits Coordinator

Job Summary
Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assist employees with benefits questions, maintain accurate records and documentation, and work with insurance providers to resolve issues. Prepare and distribute communications, support open enrollment processes, and audit billing for accuracy. Manage leave programs such as FMLA, STD, LTD, and Worker's Compensation. Typically office-based or hybrid with standard business hours, plus extended hours during open enrollment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in HR, benefits administration, or related field
- Knowledge of benefits programs and applicable laws/regulations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidentiality and professionalism
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Interpersonal skills for employee support
- Standard business hours, with extended hours during open enrollment periods
Desired Qualifications
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
- Experience with benefits platforms or payroll systems
- Knowledge of compliance requirements such as ERISA or HIPAA
