Benefits Analyst - Leave Administration

Job Summary

Administer U.S. and Canadian health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, and FSA/HSA plans. Coordinate employee enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations while monitoring HR ticketing systems to resolve benefits questions. Audit benefit eligibility, deductions, and carrier files to ensure accuracy. Coordinate administration of FMLA, ADA accommodations, parental leave, and short- and long-term disability programs. Serve as a liaison between employees, managers, and third-party administrators to track leave utilization and monitor compliance with federal and state requirements. Conduct periodic audits of benefit plans, payroll deductions, and leave programs to identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions. Generate recurring and ad hoc reports on program utilization, costs, and workforce trends to support due diligence for acquisitions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, leave administration, HR compliance, or related HR functions
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and applicable state leave laws
  • Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or comparable certification
  • Experience supporting multi-state employee populations
  • Experience with benefits vendors, leave management systems, and acquisitions/integrations
