Job Summary
Coordinate payroll processes, including system updates and submitting deductions to vendors for each pay cycle. Track, monitor, and analyze claims, fees, premiums, and costs to reconcile discrepancies and develop summary reports for management. Gather, compile, and test data for nondiscrimination and coverage testing, while coordinating benefit surveys and benchmarking plans against industry standards. Implement approved benefit changes and regulatory updates, such as HIPAA, and prepare monthly budget variance reports. Serve as a resource for HR teams on plan design, funding, and premium building, and provide analysis for mergers and acquisitions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, related field
- Four years of benefits equivalent experience with group insurance (i.e. health and welfare or retirement benefit plans)
- Equivalent experience must include plan administration
- Equivalent experience must include conducting basic research on plan design changes
- Equivalent experience must include assisting in the analysis of costs, trends, and funding approaches
- Two years in-depth benefits experience in welfare and qualified plans
- General understanding of statistical analysis techniques, benefits & payroll accounting and/or employee benefit & payroll laws and regulations
- Proven ability to apply analytical techniques and accounting principles to assist benefits personnel on design, recommendations, costs, and funding approaches
- Demonstrated background in customer support (i.e., working with plan participants) through answering questions, communicating program details, and facilitating delivery of benefit plans
- Experience in communicating benefit plan designs and design changes to employees at all levels
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must maintain confidentiality of employee information
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
