Job Summary
Responsibilities include managing and administering Canadian benefits programs (retirement plan, group insurance, LTD/STD, life insurance), serving as Secretary on the Retirement Committee, reviewing and updating member plan booklets and enrollment brochures, communicating plan changes to employees, enrolling Group RRSP applicants in Oracle, managing vendor selection and contract renewals, coordinating with external consultants, handling annual benefit-contract renewals, maintaining and updating benefits literature, and ensuring regulatory compliance across provincial and federal requirements. The role requires Oracle HRIS proficiency to administer enrollments and generate reports, strong vendor-management skills, and the ability to train HR staff on system processes. Focus areas include plan design reviews, cost management, employee communications, and ensuring accurate plan documentation and employee eligibility across Canadian provinces.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business with 2-3 years in a trust company environment, insurance company or corporate insurance environment or related benefits administration responsibilities
- Proficiency in Oracle HRIS procedures to retrieve and enter data and produce reports
- Experience in managing and administering Canadian benefits programs including retirement and group insurance
- Ability to communicate benefit plan changes to employees and manage vendor relationships
- Experience with contract renewals and vendor selection for group benefits and retirement plans
- Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations related to benefits
- Strong analytical, writing and math skills for deductions and trend reports
- Ability to train and assist other HR personnel on Oracle system
Desired Qualifications
