Job Summary
Benefits Administrator in BC responsible for accurate administration of employee and retiree benefit programs, enrolments and life events, and support for share purchase and pension plans. Serves as a benefits SME, conducts employee trainings/presentations, ensures data accuracy in HRIS, supports reporting and audits, troubleshoots discrepancies with carriers, and contributes to process improvements. Requires HR certification or CEBS and 2+ years in benefits/HR, proficiency in HRIS and Excel, knowledge of benefit plans and collective agreements, and ability to work in a flexible, hybrid BC setup. Eligible for a full-time temporary role with an 18-month duration, located in Surrey, BC, Canada, and offering a hybrid in-office/remote arrangement within a flexible work program.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate in Human Resources Management or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), or equivalent education/experience
- 2+ years of recent experience in benefits or HR-related roles
- Experience with traditional and complex flexible benefit plans, multiple collective agreements, and savings plans
- Experience with an employee share purchase plan and/or pension plans is an asset
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, and Microsoft Excel
- SAP platform knowledge, reporting, and/or intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong verbal and written communication with high discretion and confidentiality
- Excellent time management and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timelines
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability; ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
- Ability to manage a high-volume client portfolio while meeting service levels
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
- Working knowledge of employment legislation and interpretation of collective labour agreements and benefit carrier policies
- Option to participate in a flexible work program enabling up to 85 days per year remote/flex location
