Benchfitter (Day Shift)

Job Summary
Fabricate piping systems for industrial compression/processing equipment packages in an (on-site) Calgary shop, reading and interpreting blueprints and isometrics to determine layout and configuration; perform alignment and tack welding of spools, flame-cutting with torches, rigging with overhead and jib cranes, and maintain a safe, organized work area while adhering to codes and regulations; shift 5:50 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; reporting to the Spooling Supervisor; strong reading of technical drawings and teamwork/communication are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Pipefitter certification or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a bench fitter
- Alberta B-pressure ticket would be considered an asset
- Familiarity with various pipe materials/grades
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex piping issues
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to pipefitting/bench fitting/fabrication work
- Good physical condition and stamina to perform manual labour and work in various conditions
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
