Job Summary
Supervise and ensure guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operation are maintained in the grocery department. Achieve budgeted sales, wage percent, and profits while maintaining desired inventory levels to maximize sales and minimize excessive stock. Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines, ensuring product quality meets Lowes Foods standards and maintaining sanitation and safety throughout the area. Provide guidance, orientation, and training to department hosts to achieve satisfactory performance standards. Perform product stocking, guest service, and inventory preparation as necessary. Maintain department staffing and scheduling standards, control grocery shrink through stock loss programs, and ensure proper pricing and item scanning via audits. Control backroom maintenance and verify advertised items are available and scanning correctly. Work with the Store Manager and Receiver to maintain product levels and vendor conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. consistently and 60 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to read and understand information and direction
- 1-3 years of supermarket knowledge
- Ability to supervise people including training and development
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
- Effective communication, guest service and selling skills
- Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts and operate pallet jack for extended periods of time
