Job Summary
Manage the entire meat department, including fresh and frozen meat and seafood, by preparing product for sale, scheduling staff, and executing company merchandising programs to drive sales growth. Ensure guest service meets mystery shop standards, maintain compliance with food safety regulations and ALI audits, and oversee inventory through ordering, pull lists, and pricing audits. Train departmental staff, build a talent planning bench, and hold direct reports accountable to productivity goals while maintaining a safe environment for guests and hosts.
Required Qualifications
- high school education
- 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience
- 18 years old
- Ability to lift 50lbs, occasionally and 25lbs. constantly
- Ability to read and understand information and direction
- Knowledge of meat operations
- Ability to supervise people, including training and development
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements on the job
- Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills
- Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts for extended periods of time
