Job Summary
Oversee the bakery department by ensuring guest service, merchandising programs, and operational standards align with Lowes Foods requirements. Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits while maintaining desired inventory levels and product quality. Supervise staff through guidance, orientation, and training to meet performance standards, and handle product preparation, receiving, ordering, and stocking as needed. Maintain sanitation, safety, labor budgets, and scheduling standards throughout the shift. Perform PA announcements and assume Department Manager duties in their absence. This role supports the bakery team's growth toward full management readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to read and understand information and direction
- Knowledge of bakery operations
- Ability to supervise people including training and development
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
- Effective communication, guest service and selling skills
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to effectively communicate with the Store Manager and Merchandiser
- Ability to work well with computers
