Job Summary
Operate asphalt roller machines to tamp and smooth laid pavement, ensuring smooth and level surfaces while inspecting equipment before and after each shift. Perform general labor duties including shoveling, raking, and handling tools as needed, and assist with traffic control devices and sign placement. Signal other construction equipment for alignment and movement, and maintain daily equipment cleaning and organization to company standards. This entry-level role requires familiarity with asphalt production and heavy equipment, with experience being a plus. Candidates must adhere to safety protocols, work in outdoor conditions including inclement weather, and be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends. Required Qualifications
- 1 year (or under) experience
- Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset
- Must be positive, friendly, and professional
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy
- Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required
- Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required
- Some travel may be required as our operations span throughout Texas
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required
- Proper PPE is required at all times
- Must be able to run, maneuver, and drive the asphalt roller machine
Desired Qualifications
- Heavy equipment experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, a plus
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
