Job Summary
Greet and engage members and guests to create a welcoming, inclusive environment, while conducting new member onboarding sessions and wellness consultations. Build meaningful relationships to connect individuals to programs, actively promote memberships through tours and outreach, and meet sales and retention goals. Monitor fitness center activity for safety, instruct members on equipment use, and assist with health education initiatives. Respond promptly to inquiries, resolve concerns with accountability, and process memberships and payments while maintaining data integrity. Uphold YMCA policies, safety protocols, and the Code of Conduct in all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Business, or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to inspire others
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in member management systems
- 1–2 years of experience in membership sales, customer service, or health and wellness coaching
- Proven ability to build relationships
- Proven ability to meet sales goals
- Proven ability to motivate others toward healthy living
- Current approved Adult, Child, & Infant CPR/First Aid/AED certifications
- Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certifications within 30 days of hire
- Physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Auditory and visual ability to observe and respond to situations in the fitness and membership areas
Desired Qualifications
