Job Summary
Belonging and Well-Being Champion at the YMCA focuses on fostering a culture of belonging, health, and connection across membership and wellness experiences. The role blends engagement and wellness support with membership sales/service to drive growth and retention. Responsibilities include welcoming members, onboarding new members, connecting them to YMCA programs and services, conducting wellness consultations to help members achieve healthy living goals, promoting programs and services, conducting tours and follow-ups to close memberships, facilitating small-group connections, ensuring safety and compliance, and participating in leadership and community outreach efforts. Key skills include exceptional customer service, relationship-building, program coordination, communication, and a collaborative approach across departments; certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED and the ability to obtain them within 30 days are required. The position emphasizes inclusion, safety, and adherence to YMCA policies while supporting sales goals and member retention.
Required Qualifications
- EDUCATION: High school diploma preferred or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Business, or related field preferred.
- CERTIFICATIONS: Current approved Adult, Child, & Infant CPR/First Aid/AED certifications or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to inspire others, handle multiple priorities, and work collaboratively across departments; proficiency in Microsoft Office and member management systems.
- RELATED EXPERIENCE: 1–2 years of experience in membership sales, customer service, or health and wellness coaching preferred.
