Job Summary
Escort arriving and departing guests to and from their accommodations while transporting and handling luggage with extreme care. Read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets, and deliver portions to guests. Visually inspect rooms, acquaint guests with room features, and respond to inquiries regarding hotel services and the local area. Organize and store luggage in designated areas, ensure management is aware of relevant guest feedback, and assist supervisors with assigned duties. Maintain a neat uniform, arrive on time for every scheduled shift, and uphold a pleasant demeanor when interacting with guests.
Required Qualifications
- Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends
- Valid state-issued driver's license, with a current address and acceptable driving record
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisors and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to use clock (standard/military time)
- Ability to maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor when interacting with guests
- Ability to effectively respond to customer problems or complaints
