Job Summary
Practicum placement in Calgary with the Calgary Dream Centre to support the Tower Program and Community Housing initiatives. The student will assist with daily programming, intake processes, outreach, and administrative tasks while building compassionate, professional relationships with residents and individuals navigating homelessness and addiction. Supervision is provided by the Site Supervisor and the role emphasizes developing practical skills in the field through weekly supervision meetings, reflective practice, and active participation in program development and evaluation. The position is offered in collaboration with Ambrose University as part of the BHS practicum program for an entry-level learner.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Year 3 of the Ambrose University Bachelor of Behavioural Science (BHS) program
- In good academic standing and approved for practicum by the BHS Program Coordinator
- Valid Police Information Check (Criminal Record Check)
- Completion of any additional checks required by the Calgary Dream Centre (e.g., vulnerable sector check)
- Genuine interest in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, and poverty
- Alignment with the Calgary Dream Centre’s mission and values
