Behaviour Therapy Assistant (Wollongbar, NSW)

Job Summary

Support people with complex needs and trauma backgrounds by providing respectful personal care and daily living support. Implement behaviour support strategies with guidance from the therapy team while helping clients build independence, confidence, and connection. Work across a 24/7 roster including sleepovers, active nights, and early mornings to maintain continuity of care. Maintain a compassionate, professional approach to individuals with complex behaviours and health needs, ensuring safety and dignity at all times.

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field.
  • Willingness to work with complex behaviours and health needs.
  • NDIS Worker Check, Working With Children Check, First Aid, CPR, Police Check and Driver's Licence.
  • Australian permanent residency or citizenship.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience or training in dementia care, diabetes management, and/or supporting people with ASD or intellectual disability highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient approach to care.
