Behaviour Support Practioner

Job Summary

Assist NDIS participants, families, and carers to manage challenging behaviours and develop new skills through thorough assessments that identify triggers and risks. Develop Behaviour Support Plans and provide ongoing monitoring to ensure individual goals reflect participants' strengths while eliminating restrictive practices. Build the capacity of family and community support networks by acting as an advocate and role model for best practice within a multidisciplinary team. Maintain a caseload with regular adjustments to strategies, ensuring consistent implementation of positive behaviour support frameworks.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working within the NDIS framework and supporting individuals with disabilities and challenging behaviours
  • Strong report writing skills and the ability to translate assessment findings into clear, actionable plans
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to balance a dynamic caseload

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree level qualifications of relevance to providing support to people with behaviours of concern are highly preferred
  • Passion for supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Commitment to person-centred practice and reducing restrictive interventions
