Job Summary
The Behavioral Youth Counselor Assistant role involves teaching youth life skills, assisting in treatment planning, facilitating group therapy sessions, and providing for their daily physical care. This position includes participating in youth transports, helping develop coping skills, and completing daily documentation. Candidates are expected to be physically agile, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Those in this role will work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends, generally following a Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday schedule, with a requirement of at least 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Experience working with youth (required)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with at-risk youth and/or families (strongly preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must possess a current, valid driver’s license.
- Applicants are required to complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR trainings and pass an agility and strength evaluation.
