Job Summary
Provide non-physical, emotional, and behavioral support to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center; implement strategies outlined in each child’s Individual Support Plan; conduct Functional assessments including ADLs; use redirection strategies to manage behavioral concerns; submit visit notes following each session; respond to crises with de-escalation and safety strategies; engage clients in interest-based activities; attend case reviews and required trainings; maintain compliance with agency protocols and guidelines; bilingual candidates are encouraged; typical hours 5–20 per week with 2–4 hour evening shifts; NJ CSOC Certification within 6 months and pursuit of RBT within 6 months; requires valid NJ driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and drug screening; role emphasizes active listening, empathy, and collaboration in a supportive, home- and community-based setting; compensation includes a $300 sign-on bonus for Cumberland County, with structured payout milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
- Must complete NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role
