Job Summary
Behavioral Technician providing non-physical, emotional, and behavioral support to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center. Service hours typically 5–20 per week with 2–4 hour evening shifts. Responsibilities include implementing Individual Support Plans, conducting ADLs assessments, using redirection strategies, submitting visit notes, responding to crises with de-escalation, engaging clients in activities, attending case reviews and trainings, and adhering to agency protocols. Requires NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire and pursuit of RBT certification within 6 months, a valid NJ driver’s license, and clearance through background checks and a pre-employment drug screen. Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are encouraged. Roles may involve home visits and collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams; performance is guided by evidence-based approaches for developmental disabilities and emphasizes active listening, empathy, and strong communication. Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates encouraged to apply
- Supervised experience requirements if RBOT/BACB pathway
- High school diploma or GED acceptable with supervised experience as per NJ guidelines
