Job Summary
Behavioral Specialist at Richmond Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Staten Island, NY. Weekday shifts (Monday–Friday). Responsibilities include carrying out unit-specific duties, recording resident behavioral data, communicating with the Behavioral Services team, assisting in crisis intervention and behavior plan management, guiding groups led by activity staff, contributing to program/curriculum development, maintaining a safe treatment environment, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Requirements: High School diploma and at least one year of related experience; ability to work professionally with residents and staff and to manage time in a dynamic care setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Minimum of one-year experience in a related field
- Ability to work cooperatively with other human services professionals.
- Ability to interact professionally and responsibly with facility residents and staff
- Ability to structure own time and work efficiently
- Ability to adjust work schedule and priorities in response to program development, changes in pace, and/or changes in implementation of services
- Ability to manage and perform a demanding routine in a multi-distracting environment
- Ability to work calmly in a crisis situation and intervene as necessary in a manner that maximizes resident and staff safety
