Job Summary
The Behavioral Rehabilitation Specialist serves as a key member of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, managing a caseload of 10-12 consumers while collaborating on Individual Recovery Plans (IRP). Responsibilities include developing therapeutic relationships with clients, facilitating their integration into community living, conducting home visits, participating in crisis intervention, and leading psycho-educational groups. A Master’s degree in social work or related discipline and an active LGSW or LCPC license in DC are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with mental health principles. Expectation of working non-traditional hours as required.
Required Qualifications
- Active LGSW or LCPC license issued in the District of Columbia
- Demonstrates knowledge of mental health principles and demonstrated ability to operationalize and implement these principles in mental health practice.
Desired Qualifications
- Masters’ degree in social work, psychology or relevant human services discipline
- Case Management experience preferred
- Experience documenting case notes preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner even when dealing with emotional topics
- Solves practical problems and manages a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in both written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to understand complex clinical concepts (engagement, outreach, empathy, etc.) and interventions over time and to incorporate these into clinical practice under supervision of Clinical Manager.
