Job Summary
Evaluate and diagnose Health Plan members seen in primary care for mental disorders affecting their medical conditions. Utilize Health Psychology to develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate treatment plans including crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, psychoeducation groups, and case management. Prepare concise intake evaluations, maintain confidential progress records per state and NCQA regulations, and provide education to members and families. Collaborate with physicians on psychotropic medication screening, administer psychological tests on a limited basis, and consult on program development and outcomes. Serve as a liaison to Psychiatry, Chemical Dependency Services, and specialty behavioral medicine teams. Requires a California Psychologist License within six months of hire and experience in primary care settings.
Required Qualifications
- PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health or School Psychology from an accredited college or university
- Psychologist License (California) within 6 months of hire
- Psychologist License (from any state) required at hire
- National Provider Identifier required at hire
- Previous clinical responsibilities to include diagnosis, crisis intervention, brief individual and group psychotherapy, and consultation and collaboration with medical personnel
- Knowledge of state regulations and APA standards as it related to client treatment, patient rights and client/patient confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team and within a primary care environment
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with psychopharmacology and health psychology background preferred
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting preferred
