Job Summary
Behavioral Intervention Specialist located in Brooklyn provides psychological services in an assigned residential facility. Responsibilities include assessing consumer functioning using standardized instruments (e.g., adaptive behavior scales, IQ tests) and informal methods, developing behavioral treatment and monitoring plans with the interdisciplinary team, conducting staff trainings and in-services, and regular data review of behavioral progress. Duties include presenting findings to the IDT, preparing semi-annual reports, advocating for individuals with outside providers, obtaining informed consent for rights restrictions and potential medications, attending monthly and annual meetings, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Requires a Master’s degree in Psychology or related field and 1–3 years of experience working with the DD population. Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
