Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Therapist plans and conducts therapeutic interventions for an assigned caseload in an outpatient setting, using cognitive/behavioral approaches. Responsibilities include patient assessments, crisis intervention, and documentation of clinical activities. The role requires effective communication with patients and collaboration with treatment teams.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related Human Service degree
- One (1) or more years’ experience in clinical setting or equivalent work-related experience
- Two (2) or more years prior experience in provision of individual and group psychotherapy in a clinical setting
- Strong leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Sound judgment
- Knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
- Strong ability to communicate complex topics
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a managed care environment
Additional Requirements
- Must maintain active licensure
- Ability to be credentialed with local insurance providers
