Job Summary
Behavioral Health Technician provides direct client support in a behavioral health setting, prompting and supervising ADLs, maintaining a therapeutic milieu, and documenting services. Responsibilities include collaborating with the clinical team to determine interventions, engaging clients in group and one-on-one activities, conducting drug/pregnancy tests and breathalyzer screenings, ensuring safety and crisis de-escalation, maintaining confidentiality, and assisting with admissions, discharges, and routine charting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1+ year experience working with clients with mental health issues
- Valid Drivers license preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to complete within the first 30 days of employment
- Clearance of TB test
- Must be willing to complete BHT and CPI Training courses within 3 months of employment
