Job Summary
Behavioral Health Technician provides milieu management, supervises clients, conducts screenings (drug, pregnancy, breathalyzer), documents in client records, and collaborates with the clinical team to implement interventions. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, maintaining a therapeutic environment, conducting group and one-to-one activities, facilitating client education groups, managing crises using de-escalation techniques, supporting medication management and intake processes, transporting clients to appointments, and ensuring safety and compliance with policies. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 1+ year experience with clients with mental health issues; CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days; TB clearance; and completion of BHT and CPI Training within 3 months.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience working with clients with mental health issues
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to complete within the first 30 days of employment
- Clearance of TB test
- Must be willing to complete BHT and CPI Training courses with 3 months of employment
