Job Summary
Behavioral Health Technicians provide supervision and supportive care for adolescent residents in a residential milieu, assist with admissions and treatment planning, participate in therapeutic meals and structured activities, monitor residents, document observations in charts, enforce policies, and support residents’ skill development for eating-disorder recovery. The role requires an associate’s degree in a mental health–related field or a high school diploma with 2,000 hours of direct patient care, a valid driver’s license, and certain certifications (BLS and First Aid within 30 days; CPI in NC/GA; Washington Food Handler permit as applicable). The position is part-time with evening and overnight shifts, including every other weekend, in Minnesota. Professional qualifications include entry-level status with a preferred 6+ months of direct client care/milieu experience in a mental/behavioral health or healthcare setting, especially with eating disorders.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a mental health–related field (such as mental or behavioral health, counseling, or behavioral sciences)
- or a high school diploma and at least one year / 2,000 hours of direct patient care experience in a mental or behavioral health setting
- valid driver’s license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- CPI certification within 30 days of hire (for North Carolina or Georgia)
- Washington State Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire (for Washington)
- 6+ months of direct client care/milieu experience preferred
