Job Summary
Behavioral Health Technician providing direct observation and support at a treatment center, with responsibilities including developing daily/weekly structures for clients, transporting clients using the company van, orienting new admissions to facility rules, following infection control guidelines, coordinating with clinicians and staff, and contributing to program evaluation. Requires high school diploma or GED (or equivalent) and CPR/First Aid within 90 days; Florida driver license; 1+ year experience preferred. Key skills include strong communication, patient confidentiality, crisis awareness, teamwork, trauma-informed care, familiarity with 12-step recovery concepts, and ability to work in a predominantly indoor, controlled environment with potential exposure to high-risk situations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from High School or GED (or equivalent)
- 1 year experience in treatment industry preferred
- Current and valid Florida Driver License
- CPR certification and First Aid within 90 days of employment
- Ability to transport clients using company van and comply with infection control guidelines
- Knowledge of State & Federal regulations regarding patient confidentiality and workplace violence
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assume responsibilities beyond the job description
- Experience with documentation and reporting (incident reports, client reports)
