Job Summary
Provide hands-on care to individuals with mental illnesses and substance use disorders by assisting patients in articulating recovery goals and determining treatment objectives. Accompany patients on outings and appointments while maintaining constant visual contact, and offer direct one-on-one therapeutic interventions under supervisor direction. Monitor patients in units, bedrooms, and during activities like smoke breaks and phone calls, alerting medical professionals to emergencies or behavioral changes. Facilitate daily routines including hygiene, meals, and group therapy, while co-facilitating groups when resident numbers exceed twelve. Maintain therapeutic records in the EMR, survey residents for satisfaction, and attend weekly supervision meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Ability to complete Ohio Peer Recovery Support Specialist within 1 year of hire
- Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the treatment team
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities
- Attention to detail and organization
- Computer literate with experience in a Windows environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize work and work-related responsibilities
