Job Summary

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or Mental Health Technician (MHT) sought to support behavioral health care delivery under licensed professionals. Responsibilities include conducting intakes, assisting with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol clients, counseling, observational monitoring, and coordinating across behavioral health programs. You will lead prescribed individual or group therapy sessions under supervision, administer psychological tests and data collection, prepare reports, maintain clinical records, and support program operations, including data tracking, process improvements, and collaboration with military and civilian providers in a multi-site environment. Requires strong observation, professional communication, independent work within guidelines, and the ability to work at various CONUS/OCONUS sites; US citizenship and security clearance (Secret or Top-Secret) or the ability to obtain one are required.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a psychiatric technician.
  • Associate degree or commensurate level of training (e.g., military mental health technician) for a psychiatric technician or mental health program assistant.
  • If military trained, specialty must be mental health technician / specialist, with related psychiatric technicians’ training including basics of psychology and social work, conflict management and de-escalation.
