Job Summary
Behavioral Health Technician position in Independence, MO (Kansas City area) focusing on supporting clinical staff and delivering compassionate care to children/adolescents across settings (inpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, outpatient). Responsibilities include patient care and safety, leading recreation/therapy sessions, milieu management, accurate documentation, team collaboration with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and therapists, implementing treatment plans, client education on psychiatric concepts and coping strategies, and discharge planning. Requires High School education or equivalent, two years of responsible employment history, valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills; flexible in a fast-paced environment with a mission-driven organization dedicated to equitable behavioral health care.
Required Qualifications
- High School education OR equivalent
- two (2) years responsible employment history
- Experience in Human Services or related field preferred
- A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Be able to obtain a Class E driver's license if required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
