Job Summary
Provide physical and psychological care to patients in 1-on-1 or group settings consistent with nursing care needs and inter-disciplinary treatment plans. Work with adolescents and children ages 5 to 17, implementing suicide precautions as needed and assessing changes in patient condition or behavior. Assist with activities of daily living including vital signs, specimen collection, and family programs while maintaining accurate EMR documentation. Participate in daily inter-disciplinary team meetings to provide input on patient behaviors and interactions, and assist in creating or modifying nursing care plans. Manage impending agitation and behavioral escalations through therapeutic activities and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Psychology, Social Work, criminal justice, education, behavior analysis, health or social sciences, counseling, alcohol studies, liberal arts, or any other human services and/or medical field
- Associate's Behavioral Health
- 1-3 years related experience
- visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- ability to communicate effectively with others
- hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- ability to work the hours specified
- ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
Desired Qualifications
- Enjoys working with children ages 5 to 12 years old and adolescent ages 13 to 17 years old as well as their families
- Has a passion helping patients with conditions such as Addiction, Anxiety Disorders, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and Depression or Suicidal behavior
- Appreciates an active, challenging care environment that requires critical thinking
- Values autonomous professional nursing practice
- Possesses motivation to help create and deliver high-quality patient care in an energizing team environment
