Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician I position involves providing direct and supportive care to clients by monitoring health and vital signs, facilitating activities and group education, addressing crises, and ensuring the safety and therapeutic environment for patients. Responsibilities include overseeing medication administration, documentation of client behaviors and interactions, conducting personal care tasks, and assisting in the admission process while adhering to confidentiality laws. The role requires communication skills for effective interaction with clients and staff, as well as the ability to document and report behavior and incidents. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience, with the potential for fast-tracked credentialing in medication administration.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Two years responsible employment in Human Services or related field preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle
- Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van
