Job Summary
Monitor assigned patients, assist with daily living tasks, de-escalate volatile situations, and enforce safety protocols while preventing self-harm attempts. Plan, lead, and evaluate recreation-oriented sessions to foster skill acquisition and stress tolerance. Maintain orderly living spaces, accurately chart observations in electronic health records, and collaborate with psychiatrists and nurses to implement individualized treatment plans. Teach patients psychiatric concepts, coping mechanisms, and relapse prevention strategies. Help prepare patients for discharge by arranging follow-up appointments and community resource linkage. Prioritize personal wellbeing through mindfulness and debriefings to sustain empathic engagement in demanding contexts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education or GED
- Two years of relatable employment history
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable vehicle
- Ability to obtain a Class E driver's license if required
