Job Summary

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will provide direct care to behavioral health patients under the supervision of an LPN or RN. Responsibilities include facilitating therapeutic groups, monitoring and assessing patients’ mental status and psychiatric symptoms, implementing interventions, maintaining patient chart documentation, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring patient safety. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, two years of experience in Behavioral Medicine/Health or a degree in Behavioral Health, NVCI training, and BLS certification.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in Behavioral Medicine/Health OR an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Health
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI) within 14 days of hire and prior to patient contact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge to recognize signs and symptoms of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) based diagnosis
