Job Summary
Provide triage, crisis counseling, and emotional support to individuals, families, and groups while ensuring a safe, supportive care environment. Conduct screenings, assessments, and interventions using evidence-based practices like Motivational Interviewing to develop safety or crisis care plans. Facilitate stabilization and coordinate psychiatric appointments within 48 hours of intervention. Transport individuals to designated receiving facilities when safe and necessary. Work as a backup to the Licensed Mental Health Clinician on an after-hours rotation schedule. Complete all orientation and mandated training activities within required timeframes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from DCF
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in behavioral health crisis services
- Familiarity with Monroe County
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field
- Registered Behavioral Technician Certification
