Job Summary
Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides essential peer and operational support to patients during recovery. Key responsibilities include patient supervision and safety, conducting safety checks, measuring vital signs, performing UDS and pregnancy tests, delivering respectful patient interactions, referring clinical concerns to therapy staff, and collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality care. The role involves daily program and facility management tasks such as patient transport, group coordination, and discharge preparations, while fostering empathy, adaptability, and strong communication within a diverse behavioral health team.
Required Qualifications
- Safe driving record with a clean DMV report for the last 3 years
- Must be at least 21 years of age to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements
- An associate's degree or higher
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant behavioral health certification
- An associate's degree or higher
- Experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment
- Experience with patients at various levels of care (detox and residential)
- Empathetic, adaptable, safety-conscious, communicative, team-oriented
- Personal commitment to compassionate patient support and crisis management
