Job Summary
Deliver direct and indirect patient care by performing activities of daily living, observing behaviors, and maintaining one-to-one patient observation including off-unit time. Assist in developing educational processes for patient care, facilitate group sessions, and provide family education while ensuring unit safety through regular room checks. Utilize non-violent crisis intervention principles to handle agitated patients using the least restrictive means, including handling, restraining, and secluding as necessary. Support inspection and survey preparations while adhering to hospital policies and standards of care.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field
- Strong leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Sound judgment
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
- One (1) year experience in an acute psychiatric inpatient setting, mental health crisis response service or related behavioral health program
