Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for pediatric patients requiring direct observation. Works under the delegation of the Bedside RN and collaborates with the Nurse, Behavioral Health team, MSW, and Medical Team to upload the established behavioral plan. The BHT is trained in verbal de-escalation and situational awareness, and is cross-trained to a limited scope of the Nursing Technician role to learn daily patient care and ADLs. The role emphasizes supporting diverse patient populations, delivering care, offering a supportive environment, and partnering with multiple disciplines to positively impact a child’s health journey.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Psychiatric unit experience
