Job Summary
Behavioral Health Support Specialist providing highly individualized services in the community to individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges, including advocacy, empowerment, and promotion of self-determination. Responsibilities include modeling coping and self-help techniques, leading peer support groups, assisting with resources and processes, facilitating social opportunities, and supporting daily decision-making to help individuals regain control over their recovery. Schedule is 8am–4pm in Concord, NC; position emphasizes recovery, coping skills, and community integration.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Auto insurance
- Vehicle (if driving for transporting individuals)
- Pre-employment screening including criminal background check (OIG, Child Abuse Registry, etc.)
- Education verification and credentialing as required by position
- Drug testing
