Job Summary
Conduct initial, annual, and crisis mental health evaluations while maintaining a caseload of 40 patients. Deliver counseling services including individual and group psychotherapy, complex care coordination, and crisis intervention. Provide weekly clinical supervision to CASAC Counselors with a focus on case analysis and treatment planning. Manage community referrals, ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations, and lead staff training on evidence-based practices. Complete risk assessments, safety planning, and documentation across multiple systems. Attend weekly case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings while providing administrative coverage and task supervision for interns. Rotate between East Harlem and South Bronx clinics, working outside traditional hours with occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
- Minimum of two (1) years of experience as a staff trainer or treatment supervisor
- Evidence of excellent interpersonal relationships
- Effective English communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal)
- Ability to problem solve
- Completion of OASAS Clinical Supervision Foundations I and II within one (1) year of hire
- Experience in providing and documenting psychological assessments including diagnosis as described in the DSM-V
- Demonstrated understanding of the psychodynamics of personality and human behavior
- Person-centered care
- Understanding of the psychopathology and treatment of substance use disorders
- Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations
- A strong commitment to furthering institutional performance measures through interdisciplinary teamwork
- Advanced organizational and time management skills
- Computer-literacy with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in the use of Electronic Medical Records Systems
- Able to work outside the traditional hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Required to talk and hear
- Required to sit and use hands and fingers
- Required to handle or feel
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- May be required to lift an object weighing up to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Preference for OTP experience
- Credentialed Substance Abuse and Alcoholism Counselor (CASAC)
