Behavioral Health Specialist

Job Summary
Provide support to individuals with mental health or substance use issues in residential, school, workplace, and community settings using strength-based interventions focused on recovery, symptom reduction, and coping skills. Facilitate relationships and serve as a link between clients, families, guardians, and local agencies while minimizing the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence. Perform case management functions by linking and arranging for services and referrals, and support clients in developing daily living, socialization, and behavior management skills. Work closely with clinical staff to maintain communication, standardize procedures, and expedit service implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the requirements of a Qualified Professional
- Bachelor's degree (in Human Services field) & 2+ years full-time experience with population served
- Bachelor's degree (Not Human Services field) & 4+ years full-time experience with population served
- Master's Degree or Higher & 1+ years full-time experience with population served
- License, Provisional License, Certificate, Registration, Permit issued by governing board regulating human service profession
- Complete criminal background
- Name checked in the registries
- OIG exclusions database check
- Child Abuse Registry check
- Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities check
- Drug testing
- Education verification
- Credentialing based on position requirements
- Proof of employment history or references
- Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle
