Job Summary
Behavioral Health Specialist provides direct patient care under supervision in an adult behavioral health unit. Responsibilities include ensuring quality patient care, measuring vital signs, maintaining patient hygiene, assisting with mobility, and supporting unit-based duties. Acts as liaison between patient and nurse, documents care accurately and timely, conducts patient rounding and 15-minute checks, and offers patient safety companion services. Collects patient data and screenings, participates in continued education and in-service training. Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Certifications of note include BLS (preferred prior to direct patient care), with various preferred licenses/certifications listed. Equal opportunity employer.
