Behavioral Health Specialist Lead

Job Summary
Lead the Behavioral Health team during assigned shifts at the Receiving Hope Center by supervising Behavioral Health Specialists and Techs, developing daily schedules, ensuring policy compliance, and providing direct care to program participants. Responsibilities include supervising participants and staff, coordinating shift coverage and breaks, authoring statements regarding critical incidents, delivering trauma-informed care, providing hands-on support to youth, building trust, de-escalating crises, training and mentoring staff, completing shift logs and incident reports, coordinating program activities, administering and documenting medication, performing bed checks and safety tasks, and supporting program operations and safety. The role requires leadership within a multidisciplinary care team, managing administrative duties, and maintaining high standards of care while upholding the program’s trauma-informed and faith-based framework.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education, or a related field
- Minimum four years of related mental or behavioral health experience with adolescents and families
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong administrative and organizational skills; proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention (or willingness to obtain)
- Employment is contingent upon pre-employment background checks including criminal history, fingerprinting, drug testing; valid driver’s license maintained throughout employment
- Documentation of two professional and one personal references confirming capability to work with children and vulnerable populations
- Health screening within 30 days of hiring; ongoing trainings and competency in content areas
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; moderate local travel; evening/weekend/holiday shifts
