Job Summary
Provide direct behavioral support to patients in acute psychiatric or behavioral crisis within the Burnet Emergency Department. Collaborate with nurses, providers, and social work to ensure safe, coordinated care while monitoring and responding to changing patient behaviors in real time. Implement individualized behavioral care plans, conduct safety checks, and apply Therapeutic Crisis Intervention strategies including verbal deescalation and physical interventions when necessary. Complete timely documentation and communicate behavioral updates during shift handoffs and team huddles. Work nights for 36 hours weekly as a full-time Behavioral Health Specialist.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in a related field
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field
