Job Summary
Behavioral Health Specialist provides services within a correctional facility, using recreational and social activities to foster skill building, problem solving, and achievement of treatment objectives. Works as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to reinforce social, adaptive, and independent living skills. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or closely related field; NCCAP certification preferred; completion of an approved clinical internship is required; eligibility to obtain a security clearance (including drug screen and background check). Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or closely related field required
- Completion of an approved clinical internship in the appropriate rehabilitation specialty in an approved hospital or rehabilitation center affiliated with the college required
- NCCAP certification preferred
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
