Job Summary
Conduct intensive psychosocial evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and counseling therapy for children ages 11 to 18 within a school environment. Deliver crisis intervention, group therapy, and family therapy while preparing treatment, discharge, and follow-up care plans. Supervise lower-level counselors, social workers, and interns on clinical activities and therapeutic approaches. Manage case files, maintain patient records, and coordinate care with school personnel and external legal or social service agencies. Plan and implement community outreach, education workshops, and liaison activities with local organizations. Monitor budgets, prepare reports, and participate in research projects to develop service plans and propose policy changes.
Required Qualifications
- Master's in Counseling, Social Work, or an equivalent field
- Current State of Idaho Master of Social Worker or Professional Counselor license in good standing
- License eligible and minimum one year post graduate experience
- Knowledge and understanding of evidence based clinical social mental health counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards for children and families
- Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills
- Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records
- Knowledge of community mental health resources
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures for the age groups being treated
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
- Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a school setting and diverse community
- Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications
- Knowledge and understanding of crisis intervention techniques
- Knowledge of the principles and methods of social and vocational rehabilitation as they relate to mental health clinical practices
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
- Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients' rights
- Knowledge of community support services and funding agencies
- Completion of all training requirements
- Participation in emergency response tasks
- Serving on safety committees and teams
- Adherence to all written and verbal instructions
- Prompt reporting and/or correcting of all hazards or unsafe conditions
- Providing feedback to supervisors and management on all safety issues
- Proper determination of the accuracy of reporting and billing
- Participation in compliance trainings
- Identification and reporting of concerns or activities that may violate standards
- Training on the FHS Medicare Compliance Plan
- Understanding of the FHS Standards of Conduct
- Signing a Conflict of Interest Statement at hire and annually thereafter
- Active and willing participation as a PCMH team member
- Reading and understanding general and specific operational, safety, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to this job
