Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Practitioner provides rehabilitative services to clients with mental illness or children with emotional disturbance, focused on enhancing psychiatric stability and independent living skills. Responsibilities include providing client education, functional assessments, treatment planning, and case management. The practitioner will document services, participate in care coordination, and may conduct crisis assessments. Required qualifications include relevant education in Behavioral Sciences, significant experience in mental health service delivery, and completion of a criminal background check.
Required Qualifications
- At least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in Behavioral Sciences or related fields
- 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services
- 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness or substance use disorder
- Pass a criminal background check through MN DHS NetStudy
- Access to a personal vehicle
- Valid driver’s license and insurable under the agency’s automobile insurance policy
- Free from substance use problems for no less than 2 years
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant coursework in Behavioral Sciences or related fields
- Experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness, substance use disorder
